All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ ARMSTRONG, RUTH (18 Nov 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Ruth Nevins Armstrong passed away at a local hospital Monday, November 15, 1926 after a short illness. She was born April 22, 1900 at Mammouth, Illinois and came with her parents to Oklahoma in 1901, where they settled on a farm three miles north of Hammon. She completed her education at that place in 1918 and two years later was married to Ben Armstrong. She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Nevins, formerly of this place but now located at Borger, Texas, two brothers, John Nevins of Houston, Texas; and Russell Nevins of Long Beach, California; one sister, Deborah (last name unclear) of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and her nine day old baby girl. Elder Will W. Slater and J. C. Carman conducted the funeral. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Fairlawn cemetery.
