(16 Sep 1930, Elk City newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK) ARTHUR FUNERAL IS HELD TODAY. Sayre, Okla., Sept. 16 - Funeral services were held in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery at 2:30 this afternoon for Charles H. Arthur, 43, of this city. Rev. W. J. McCollom officiated, assisted by Rev. A. J. Bradshaw, pastor of the First Christian church here. Mr. Arthur died late Sunday evening after an illness of several weeks at his residence on North Seventh street. He was a resident of Beckham county for 12 years. Mr. Arthur is survived by his wife. (18 Sep 1930, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Local Mechanic Dies Here Sunday. C. H. Arthur, engineer and mechanic, died at his home in the city, 4:30 Sunday afternoon after a lingering illness of more than a year. The deceased was born in Kansas in 1887 and moved to Oklahoma with his parents when a small boy. After he married, Arthur moved to Sayre where he has lived for the past 15 years. He is survived by his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Arthur of Meno, Oklahoma; by three brothers, Reno Arthur who lives in Western Kansas, Ira and Earl Arthur of Meno, and by a sister, Mrs. C. L. Miller of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The deceased was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were held at the Sayre-Doxey cemetery with Littrell-Moore in charge.
