TWEEDY UNCLE AND NEPHEW BURIED AT SAME TIME. Tuesday morning a telephone message came from the Berlin I. O. O. F Lodge to the secretary of the Elk City lodge that the body of Ezra P. Tweedy would be brought to Elk City from Woodward to be buried in Fairlawn cemetery. He being a member of the Berlin Lodge, they asked the members here to take charge, as the snow had filled the roads until it was impossible for members of that lodge to come down. Later, it was found that a nephew, Clyde H. Ash, who had lived with his uncle, Mr. Tweedy, had also died and his body would be brought here at the same time, to be laid beside that of his grandfather, Capt. Ash, who died a number of years ago and who lived in Elk City at the time of his death. It seems the nephew was living with the uncle and both took sick with pneumonia. Mr. Ash dying on February 25th and Mr. Tweedy on February 26th, the latter being aged 77 years, 10 months and 26 days. Mr. Ash was aged 28 years, 3 months and 28 days. The train bring bodies did not arrive until after 9 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, but was met and the bodies taken to Grubitz & Son undertaking parlors where they remained until Wednesday afternoon when funeral services were held in charge of the Odd Fellows who turned out large numbers to pay their last respects to a departed brother and his nephew. The Odd Fellow burial ceremony was held at the grave with the prayer by Brother Gilliland. R. P. Tweedy of Woodward, a brother of the deceased, also Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ash of Canadian, Texas, a brother and sister in law of the young man, accompanied the remains here and appreciated very much the kindness shown them by the Odd Fellows.
