All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Obituary, Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham Co, Ok, April 1990: BACON, DONNA MAE PATE Funeral services for Donna Bacon were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Savage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Haggard, officiating. Donna Mae Pate Bacon was born April 16, 1914 in Texas, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Pate, and died April 4th in the Mangum Hospital at the age of 75. Donna Pate married John Bacon in Mexico in 1947, and he preceded her in death Dec 12, 1983. Mrs. Bacon lived in Elk City for 30 years before moving to Mangum. She at one time worked at the Bethel Retirement Center. Her hobby was reading. She is survived by three sons, Milton Mercer of California, Gary "Pete" Kirby of Dallas, Tex.; four daughters, Pat Noblit of Mangum, Gloria Powell of Phoenix, Ariz., Norma White of Clinton, and Sherry Halliburton of Houston, Tex.; three brothers, Bill Pate and Delbert Pate, both of Bakersfield, Calif., and Jack Pate of Forest Graves, Ore.; three sisters, Johnnie Ross and Mildred Boss of Bakersfield, Calif., and Dixie Battel of California; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one son Johnnie Barton, and one sister Irene Garrison. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Savage Funeral Home.
