(24 Oct 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): JOY AND SORROW. Lieut. Everett Bagget (sic), of Carpenter, came home to see the little son who arrived at his home about four weeks ago. While here on his furlough, news was received of the death of his brother, Lucius Baggett, who died at Mare Island, Calif., on the 9th. The body was brought to Carpenter and buried in Kiowa cemetery. (24 Oct 1918, Hammon Advocate, Hammon, Roger Mills Co, OK) The remains of Lucius Baggett, son of Henry and Kate Baggett arrived on Wednesday from San Francisco, California where he died last week of influenza. He was serving his second enlistment in the U. S. Navy. The remains were laid to rest in the Kiowa Cemetery.
