Mr. Baldwin was a highly respected citizen of this community. He moved from his farm to Elk City about two years ago. He was born August 3, 1850, in Roanoke county, Virginia; married Mary J. Roak, in Ray county, Missouri, October 22, 1871. Two children were born to them, Walter M. and Fannie M. He married Emma Logan September 6, 1885. Three children were born to this union, Melvin R., Paul E., and Nellie G., all of which survive him. He united with the Christian church at South Point, Missouri, 1875. He was burried (sic) Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., under the auspices of the Modern Woodman of the World in the Elk City cemetery. (23 Jul 1908, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Resolutions.
