BANCROFT, JONAH
(30 Mar 1913, Thursday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Died.  Jonah Bancroft, an old and highly respected citizen, living 14
miles southeast of Elk City, died suddenly of heart trouble at the home of
his son Thursday, March 13, age 70 years.  Funeral services were conducted
by the Masons, of which he was an honored member.  Interment took place at
the Port cemetery.
Uncle Jonah, as he was known, was an old Union soldier, a native of
Virginia, and came to Oklahoma about 4 years ago.  He had made his home
with his son, Pearl, since he has been in the state.
