(27 Oct 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Jabal J. Bandy was born in Oakland, Edgar County, Illinois, November 15, 1581 (sic), and died October 19, 1927, age 75 years, 11 months and 4 days. Upon leaving Illinois in 1869 he came to Kansas, where he was married in 1872 to Sabrina Bush. He is survived by his aged wife and six children, all of whom were present except one daughter, Mrs. S. S. Yoder of Delmarte, Colorado. Brother Bandy obeyed the gospel at the age of 44 years and had been active in church work until recent ill health rendered active service impossible. He has always lived above reproach, clean in life; chaste in language, reverent and Godly in demeanor. He was among the pioneers of this country, settling on a homestead near Carmargo in 1900, where he continued to live until 1913. For several years he has resided at Hot Springs, Arkansas. About one month ago he and his wife came to Elk City to spend the winter with his daughter, Mrs. W. W. Hughes intending to visit his son and daughter in Gage and spend the summer with a daughter in Colorado. He leaves to mourn his going his wife, six children and several grandchildren. CARD OF THANKS. May we express our sincerest appreciation to those who so kindly rendered their assistance in the various ways and for the beautiful flowers during the illness of our dear husband and father. Mrs. J.
