(12 Oct 1916, Southwest News and Leader, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Sister of R. L. Brown Died at Wallace, Kans.
Mrs. M. E. Barnes of Wallace, Kansas, died at the family home there on
Tuesday of last week, and the remains were shipped to Duncan, Oklahoma,
where they were laid to rest in the family burying grounds on Friday
afternoon.  Deceased was forty years old, and is survived by her husband
and six children, her father and other relatives, among them being a
brother, R. L. Brown of this city.  Mr. Brown returned Sunday from Duncan,
where he went to attend the funeral services.
