Belnap (sic) better known as "Grandma" Belnap passed away at her home in Rocky, Okla., Friday, January 4, 1929. Interment was made in Rocky Cemetery. Mrs. Belnap was formerly a resident of Elk City and is the mother of Mrs. Brown Harless, Mrs. D. Hice and Mr. D. L. Belnap. MEMORY OF MRS. J. S. BELKNAP (By Gladys Alexander) On January 5, 1929, (sic) the death angel visited the home of Grandma Belknap and called her home. Grandma was 76 years, 6 months old, and was a member of the Primitive Baptist church. She leaves her husband and six children beside other relatives and a host of friends, but we realize our loss, is Heaven's gain, and we can only say to her loved ones, you cannot call her back, but by the grace of God, you can go where she is. The writer, from a personal knowledge knows that Grandma was always ready to help those about her to bear burdens of live having a smile and a good word for every one.
