BLAKEMORE, ALICE LEONA
(4 Feb 1940, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Leona Blakemore, 79 years old, pioneer
resident of western Washita county who died Friday night at her home south
of Canute, will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Hefner church. 
Rev. Hubert Biggs of Butler and Rev. Griffin Hamilton of Canute will
officiate.  Burial will be in the Ural cemetery.
Mrs. Blakemore was born April 17, 1860, in Tennessee and came to Oklahoma
in 1889.  She had been a member of the Hefner Methodist church for many
years.
Survivors include six sons and daughters.  They include Mrs. Beulah
Rayfield, J. Bud Blakemore and Charley Blakemore, all of Canute, Docia
Murin of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Lowery of Wichita Falls, Tex., and
Ollie Rigsbee of Oakland, Calif.
