BLANK, MADELINE
(19 Jul 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
With sadness we chronicle the death of Madeline Blank, the 17 year old
daughter of Mrs. C. M. Henderson which occurred at the home of her
stepfather, C. M. Henderson, near Roll, July 11, 1923.  Madeline since a
small child had attended the schools at Welcome and Clear Spring and was
beloved by all who new (sic) her.  At eight she gave her heart to Jesus
and joined the Methodist church of which she was still a consistent member
until she was called to her maker.  She had been in poor health for many
weeks, and as only an operation could avail, she was taken to Durham where
Dr. Wallace performed the necessary operation, but various complications
developed that caused her death.  The funeral services were conducted by
Reverend Barrett and the remains were laid to rest in the Red Hill
cemetery west of Cheyenne.  The family have the sympathy of the entire
community.
