All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ BLOCKER, BONNIE PEARL (18 Feb 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Pearl Blocker, wife of Duff Blocker died Sunday night in Southern Baptist Sanitarium at El Paso, Texas, where she has been for six months suffering from tuberculosis. Her father is E. O. Ragland who went to El Paso on receiving telegram of her serious illness. He will return here tomorrow woth (sic) the body and funeral services will be announced after their arrival. Mrs. Blocker first married Clyde Brannon, but he died one year after their marriage, he having passed away seven years ago, leaving a little girl, Bonnie, who accompanied her grandfather, Mr. Rayland (sic) to El Paso. (25 Feb 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Bonnie Pearl Ragland was born in Bowie, Texas, October 19, 1900, died in Southern Baptist Sanitarium at El Paso, Texas, February 14, 1926. Her mother died when she was 5 years old. Her only brother and sister died a few years later leaving her alone with her father, E. O. Ragland. Married Clyde Brannon May 26, 1916, baby girl Bonnie Clyde was born October 14, 1918. Mr. Brannon passed away January 31, 1919. Two years later she went to New Mexico for the benefit of her health. Married to Duff Blocker, April 23, 1923, and moved to Elk City but after several months returned to Tucumcari, New Mexico in hopes her physical condition would improve. Last September she was taken to El Paso. Her condition though serious seemed to be somewhat improved and a few weeks ago she was able to be up part time. Was standing talking to a nurse when suddenly began hemorraging (sic) which later proved fatal. The remains were shipped back and funeral services were held in the Christian Church of which she was a member at Tucumcari, N. M. Rev. Lemmex had charge with Rev. Webb assisting. Mrs. Jack Cummings sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," American Legion boys, Henry Tyler, Charles Glaziner, Mr. Malone, Neal O'Brien, Carrol Tisdal and Melvin Jordon were pall bearers.
