(5 Feb 1925, Thursday, Elk City News-Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Sadie Campbell Boomer was born June 20, 1870 in Jackson County, Iowa near Fulton. In 1873 she moved with her parents, four brothers and three sisters to near Central City, Hamilton County, Nebraska. Here she grew to womanhood. Was married to Grant O. Boomer on the 17th day of October in 1894 in Aurora, Nebr. With her husband she went to Missouri where they began their home making near Brookfield. It was here that Hazel and Willie were born. In 1897 this little family moved to Nebraska and Albert was born. In 1899 they moved back to near Brookfield, Mo., and Carl was born. Leonard was born after they moved to Elk City, Okla., Dec. 20, 1910. Here Mrs. Boomer has made her home until her untimely demise. She has been a faithful loving wife, a true understanding mother, and one who loved her neighbors as her self. Words fail to express the beauty of this noble christian soul. Hoping, praying, striving and by loving deeds and kindness, she has held her boys and girl in the straight and narrow way and been a comforter and sympathizer to her husband. The children can truly say "Mother" thou art gone but thy spirit and prayers hover near to comfort and cheer us in our lonely hours. Sadie, "our sister" meant all the family ties and memories of childhood days to her brothers and it was with great sorrow her two brothers realized they had arrived too late to see the beloved sister alive, but she was ready for the summons of her Master "come unto me." She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, her daughter, Hazel, four sons, Willie, Albert, Carl, Leonard, her step-son Virgil, all of Elk City; three brothers, Wm. T. Campbell, Hordville, Nebr., Chas. U. Campbell, Hordville, Nebr., J. A. Campbell, Hordville, Nebr. Three step-grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. B. Gettys, of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Elk City. A larger number of friends, neighbors and relatives were present. Many beautiful flowers covered the casket. The body was laid to rest in Fairlawn cemetery of Elk City. The deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
