Obit of William J. Boydston, Beckham Co. OK WILLIAM J. BOYDSTON Posted by Joan (DeFore) Garvey for Elk City Library Elk City Paper, Beckham Co., OK (Obituary One) June 25, 1939 William J. Boydston, pioneer Beckham county resident and rural mail carrier of Carter, was taken by death Saturday morning at his home in Carter. He had been ill for about three years. Mr. Boydston was born in Arkansas. He was 52 years of age. He was married 30 years ago to Miss Julia ROYSE at Port, and came to Beckham county in 1901. He has resided in the county ever since. Mr. Boydston was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge. Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Miss Billie Royse Boydston of Los Angeles, Calif., Miss Lou Anne Boydston, and one son Howard Boydston, both of the home address. Funeral services have not been arranged Saturday evening pending word from the daughter in California. (Obituary Two) June 27, 1939 BOYDSTON RITES ARE HELD MONDAY AT CARTER HOME Funeral services for William J. Boydston, pioneer Beckham county resident and rural mail carrier of Carter, were to be held at 3:30 Monday afternoon at the Boydston home in Carter with Rev. FRENCH, Methodist minister, officiating.
