JAS. BRANNON Sarah Ann McArthur, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McArthur was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, May 3, 1846 and died in her home near Hammon, Okla., Jan. 21, 1925 at the age of seventy eight years, eight months and eighteen days. At the age of twenty years she was converted and joined the Missionary Baptist church in which she has been a staunch supporter, devout member and loyal Christian ever since. In 1870 she was married to Mr. James Brannon of Sulphur Rock, Ark. To this union were born five children of which one, Maudie and the father proceeded the mother into the beyond more than forty years ago. In December of 1896 Mrs. Brannon with her children came to Greer Co., Okla., and later removed to the community of Kiowa southwest of Hammon where the greater part of her latter life has been spent. Mrs. Brannon leaves to mourn her demise four children, two sons, William of Yankton, Oregon, L. C. of Hammon, Okla., and two daughters Misses Ellen and Edith also of Hammon. Besides these, she leaves one brother, J. W. McArthur of Havana, Ark., and a host of relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Red Hill cemetery.
