Fikes Services for Mary E. Brewer will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Erick First Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Charlie Floyd and assisted by Carl Hein and Tony Gonzales. Burial will be at Erick Cemetery, Erick, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mary E. Brewer was born August 17, 1918 north of Erick to Florence Edna and Mallie Cleve Fikes and dcied in the Erick Nursing Center of Erick on Wednesday, Februaary 6, 2002 at the age of 83. She attended Hately School. She was married to Robert Sidney Brewer at Cordell on December 10, 1939. Mary wrote the column about the Erick Nursing Center for the Sayre/Beckham County Democrat. She was a member of Erick First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and one brother. Survivors include her husband, Robert S. Brewer of Erick; three daughters, Mary Roberta Hendrix of Sayre, Alice Fay Stepp of Linwood, Kansas, and Edna Mae Rogers of Chillicothe, Texas; three sons, Jim J. Brewer of Amarillo, Texas, Thomas Sidney Brewer of Glen Rose, Texas, and Robert Duane Brewer of Bay City, Texas; one brother, Henry Cleve Fikes of Blanchard; two sisters, Evelyn Elifrits, and Clara Jo Waters both of Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
