Services for Mrs. Bertha Ann Brodrick, 83-year old pioneer Carter woman will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday at the Carter Baptist church with Rev. Charles Reed officiating. Mrs. Brodrick was born on Jan. 10, 1874, in Arkansas and died in her home at Carter, Saturday Jan. 5, after a lengthy illness. She was married to J. M. Brodrick in Decatur, Tex., in 1894 and came to the Carter community in 1904. Later she and her husband filed on a farm near Carter and had made her home in and around Carter since that time. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Survivors include four daughters; Mrs. Ruth Shelton, Elk City; Mrs. Nellie East, Carter; Mrs. Lida Green, Willow, and Mrs. Mattie White, Lowell, Ark; three sons, Bill, Sayre; and Robert and Arthur of Grass Valley, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and two brothers, Pearl King, Sayre, and Luther King, Decatur, Tex.
