BROWN, J. K.
(17 Feb 1921, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Mary F. Brown went to Erick Monday.  She had been here to look after
business interests.  She is the widow of the late J. K. Brown or "Uncle
Jay" as he was called.  He died in Wellinton (sic), Texas, the 28th of
December at the age of 66 years.  He had lived here many years and was
well thought of by his many friends.

J. K. Brown.  Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Brown started on a trip December 27, and
got as far as Wellington, Texas.  Mr. Brown was feeling as well as usual
but on the 28th he suddenly died of heart failure.  He was buried at
Wellington.  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Culpepper at the
Baptist church.
The many friends of Mrs. Brown extend to her their sympathy in her sad
bereavement.  Mrs. Brown returned here last week to make her home.
