Griffith, in this city at 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, 1926. In 1865 she married to Geo. W. Buckner and to this happy union were born six children, three of whom survive and were present when the final call came. In 1873 she moved with her family to McLennan county where she has resided most of the time. She was converted at the age of fourteen years and united with the Missionary Baptist church, and held membership in the church at Sardis, Ellis county. "Granny" Buckner as she is lovingly called by her friends, has been a shut in for several months, but her abiding faith in God has been her stay and shield. She was a constant source of sunshine and inspiration to those about her. No mother beautiful and richer inheritance could she have left her children, whose devotion to her in the last days was beautiful indeed. The funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Griffith home with Rev. Layton Maddox, pastor of the First Baptist church at Belton, assisted by Rev. E. R. Patterson, pastor of the First Methodist church at McGregor, officiating. Interment was made in Moody cemetery. Surviving children are two daughters and a son, Mrs. Mattie Adams, Elk City, Okla., Mrs. Joe L. Griffith, and J. G. Buckner of Moody. Two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Rouse, Ada, Okla.; Mrs. R. A. Standridge, Moody; two brothers, Chas. Rogers, Austin; W. E. Rogers, Fort Worth; and nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Active pallbearers: J. A. Land, W. M. Binns, John Neeley, T.
