All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ BURNETT, ZORA (Nov 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Zora Pride, daughter of Sarah and Henry Pride, was born Dec. 4, 1861 in Louisiana. She died at her home near Port after a short illness of pneumonia, Nov. 30, 1926 at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to William H. Burnett in 1881 and resided a few years in Arkansas, moving to Oklahoma thirty years ago, settling in the Port community. Nine children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy, and all but one son was with her at death. Mrs. Burnett had 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Port Baptist church of which she was a member Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. N. Campbell, who used the 21st chapter of Revelations for his text. Music was furnished by the church choir and included favorites of Mrs. Burnett. The deceased leaves to mourn her husband, W. H. Burnett, seven children, Mrs. Leema Thurman, Mrs. Ted Irvine, Mrs. Frank Lemons, Mrs. Auama Lowery, Mrs. W. E. Forriester, Orien Burnett, all of Port and R. M. Burnett of Taft, California, two sisters, Mrs. Abe McDonald of Carter and Mrs. Law Trammell of Gotebo and two brothers, Jim Pride of Manning, Texas, and Elbert Pride of Arizona.
