(3 May 1923, Thursday, Elk City News-Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF J. C. (sic) BURNHAM. Word was received here Tuesday morning of the death of J. C. (sic) Burnham of Stamford, Texas. Over a year ago he had a stroke of paralysis and the latter part of last week had another from which time his death was looked for at any time. Mr. Burnham formerly lived in Elk City being at one time cashier of the Cotton Exchange Bank, after which he was in the Williams & Miller office until he moved to Texas five years ago. He has been with the Rule-Jeyton Oil company for some time. Mr. Burnham was a prince of a man and held in highest esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at Stamford yesterday.
