BURNHAM, NEWT J.
(Oct 1921, Elk City News-Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Obituary.  After many weeks of patient suffering the spirit of Newt J.
Burnham passed from earth to the great beyond on Wednesday, October 12.
Mr. Burnham was born in Arkansas some 63 years ago and spent most of his
life in Texas, coming to Oklahoma to be near his daughter, Mrs. Eva Parker
several years since.  The past two years he served as janitor of the
Cheyenne school where he won the friendship of all the pupils and faculty.
 He leaves to mourn his loss Willie Burnham, two daughters, Mrs. Eva
Parker at whose home he died and Mrs. Edith Petty, several grandchildren
and a host of friends both young and old.
