On Thursday afternoon funeral services of Rex Loyd Bynum, son of Mrs. W. E. Gilkey of this city, were held from the Broadway Methodist Church. Mr. Bynum was born at Potsboro, Texas, on January 23, 1888, and died in the hospital at Guthrie on August 16, 1927. He was 39 years, 7 months and 23 days of age at the time of his death. At the age of eleven years his parents moved to Arapaho, Oklahoma, where Rex grew to manhood, spending seventeen years on the farm at that place. For some years past his home has been in Oklahoma City. On January 25, 1921, Mr. Bynum was married to Miss Helen Jones, who lives to mourn his early departure. He leaves a wife, one son, mother, one brother and a host of friends to cherish his memory. His suffering was confined to only a few days and his death comes as a great shock to the loved ones and friends. The following friends from Clinton attended the service: Mrs. Joe Schedvittz, Mrs. Jess Lorance, Mrs. Will Coleman and Mrs. Sallie Brown. Mrs. Bynum, Jack Bynum, Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Goodman, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Beacon, all of Oklahoma City; Arthur Bynum and wife of Memphis, Tennessee. We have no better citizens than Mr. and Mrs. Gilkey and their many friends sympathize with them in this time of great grief.
