All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ CAMPBELL, SARAH (12 Aug 1925, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): SARAH CAMPBELL. Miss Sarah Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Campbell, was born January 31, 1909, and died August 12, 1925 at 5:30 A.M., age 16 years, 6 months and 11 days. Sarah was baptised in the fellowship of the Hebron Baptist Church in 1922 where she remained a member the remainder of her life. The funeral services were held Wednesday, August 12, 1925, at the first Baptist Church of Elk City, where her parents are members, Rev. J. B. Conley preaching the funeral in the absence of the pastor, Rev. L. D. Mitchell. At the close of the services a very appropriate prayer was offered by Rev. Walter Crane who concluded the services at the grave. She was laid to rest in the West Fairlawn cemetery. Sarah had one brother who passed on before and leaves her parents and two sisters to survive her. She underwent an operation July 17, 1925 which was followed by her death. Sarah attended the public school in Elk City where she made many friends who regret her death and all extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
