Gentry-Killough in charge. (18 Sep 1927, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): Mary E. Wyneger was born in Barren Co., Ky., October 16, 1854. Died Sept. 1, 1927. She was married to J. M. Capps Dec. 17, 1873. To this happy union seven children, six daughters and one son were born, all of which are living. All were present except one daughter. Sister Capps had been an invalid for over 20 years. She had been confined to her bed for almost 27 months. Through it all she bore it patiently often saying she was willing to suffer if by so doing the Lord could use it for His glory. She comforted herself with the words "all things work together for good to them that love the Lord." In the language of Paul, "She hath done what she could" and "she being dead yet speaketh." Sister Capps was converted in early life and joined the Methodist Church. Later in life she was sanctified holy and united with the Free Methodist at Zion Chapel and of which she remained a faithful member and a true christian until her death. She leaves her husband and all of her children and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Our loss is heaven's gain. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
