R. J. CARLILE DEAD. Mrs. W. H. Watson received a telegram from R. J. Carlile of Stafford, Kansas, Saturday afternoon that Mrs. Carlile had died that afternoon at one o'clock. Deceased had been sick for sometime with cancer. The Carlile's were former residents of Elk City, he at one time being in partnership with Jodie Burnett in the dry goods business. Mrs. Carlile died at the home of her sister living in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a lovely lady, well liked by all who knew her. She was made a member of the Eastern Star at this place, and when she left here held the office of conductress. She kept in touch with her Elk City friends through this paper, and Mr. Carlile had written friends here how she enjoyed its weekly visits. They had lived at Weatherford before moving to Elk City. The bereaved ones have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends here. The memory of her life will ever be a rich legacy to her family and friends.
