All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ CARRUTHERS, JOSEPH DAVID (23 Jul 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Final Rites Will be Read in Taylor Community Church. Arrangements for the funeral services of Joseph David Curreathers (sic), 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Curreathers (sic), of Taylor community, 14 miles south of Elk City, were completed late this afternoon, pending word from relatives from California and Missouri who will attend the final rites. Mr. Curreathers died last evening at about 6 o'clock in a city hospital, from an illness contracted last Friday at his home. He was brought here early yesterday morning. His condition was reported critical at that time. Mr. Curreathers was born July 8, 1909, at Raymore, Missouri. He was employed as maintainer of highways at the time of his death. Immediate members of the family surviving Mr. Curreathers are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Curreathers, one sister, Mildred and one brother, Richard. Relatives from out of the state on whom the funeral arrangements are awaiting are two aunts, Mrs. Frank M. Blair of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Tillie Fisher, of California. The final services will be held at the Taylor church, Rev. J. C. Carman of this city, and Rev. Edd Taylor, of the Taylor community, will conduct the services. Interment will be made in the Ural cemetery.
