Mrs. L. S. Casstevens died at the Tisdal Hospital Tuesday morning at five o'clock. She had been on the road to recovery for nearly a month, following a major operation, but complications set in. Mrs. L. S. Casstevens, nee Essie Ayers, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Ayers of this city. She was the fourth child of seven, which had died, leaving only two brothers and one sister living, J. D. Ayers of Booneville, Ark., Ed Ayers and Minnie Ayers of this city. Mrs. Casstevens was born at Arkadelphia, Ark., Dec. 12, 1881. She moved with her parents to Honey Grove, Tex., in July, 1892, where she later joined the Baptist church in 1901. In 1915 she met and married Mr. Casstevens in Little Rock, Ark.. They lived at Pueblo, Colo., prior to the past eighteen months, which they had spent here with her parents. Her brother, J. D. Ayers, of Booneville, Ark., was here for the funeral Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. Hamilton preached appropriate services at the Baptist church. Her body was laid to rest at Fairlawn cemetery.
