Chambers, Earnest Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Chambers, born March 5, 1907, died March 17, 1915, age 8 years and 12 days. Died of diphtheria, sick only five days. A short service was conducted at the cemetery by Elder T. J. Hickman Earnest Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Chambers, was born March 5th, 1907, died March 17th, 1915, at the home of his parents of diptheria (sic), after an illness of five days. Earnest was a bright little boy loved by all his school mates and acquaintances and the pride of his parents and grandparents. There is much sorrow in the homes of both and it is hard for them to give him up, but death comes to the young and old alike, we know not when or how but we must accept the inevitable and bear the burden as best we can no matter how heavy. A short funeral service was held at Elk City cemetery by Elder T. J. Hickman after which the body was laid to rest until that morning when we all rise again. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
