(6 Jun 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Martinsville, West Virginia, had the following notice of the death of Darrel Clark, who with his parents, were former residents of Grandview neighborhood. The sympathy of their many friends here, is extended to them in this sad hour. Promising Young Man is Called By Death. Darrel M. Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Clark, died at the home of his parents in Porter Falls, Tuesday, May 15th. A promising young man, bouyant (sic) in youth, stricken sometime ago with that dreaded disease, tuberculosis, succumbed to the disease at the age of 20 years, 7 months and 7 days. News of his death was received with profound regret by his many friends and acquaintances throughout the community, where he was held in high esteem. Impressive funeral services were held from the family home in Porters Falls, May 16, the Rev. Surgeon of Reader, officiating, and interment was made in the presence of a large number of relatives, friends and acquaintances at the Morgan cemetery in charge of Undertaker W. J.
