All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ CLARK, DORA (3 Feb 1916, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF MISS CLARK. Miss Dora Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clark of Mountain Grove, Mo., was born at that place August 13th, 1892, and died in Elk City, Okla., January 29, 1916, aged 23 years, 5 month (sic) and 16 days. Funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. W. Stanfield, Rev. Boyce, officiating, and at which time Mrs. Hayes sang a beautiful solo, after which the remains were shipped to her old home for interment. At Mountain Grove, her parents, five sisters and five brother (sic) will be present to attend the last sad rites over the remains of a loved daughter and sister. The sisters and brothers are: Mrs. J. S. Brace, Sanger, California; O. E. Clark, Camfield, Colo.; J. K. and Gilbert Clark, Winfield, Kansas; Mrs. J. W. Stanfield, Elk City, Okla.; E. W., May, Ernest, Pansy and Violet Clark of Mountain Grove, Mo. The deceased came to Elk City about the middle of October, for the benefit of her health, having been a sufferer for sometime from heart trouble. Her parents and sister, Miss May, accompanied her here. The mother had to return to the little children, but the father and Miss May remained until the last, and with Mrs. Stanfield, accompanied the remains to their last resting place. The deceased made many friends while here, and all who met her remarked about her sweet christian character.
