(22 Sep 1930, Monday, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): SAYRE, Sept. 22-- Miss Minnie (sic) Cleghorn, 22, died in a city hospital Sunday morning after an illness of about a week. Miss Cleghorn took tonsilitis a few days ago and was taken to the hospital. She became worse and her condition was pronounced critical a few days ago. Miss Cleghorn is the daughter of W. H. Cleghorn, of Sayre. She was born and reared in this city, and was a graduate of the Sayre high school. Funeral rites were conducted by Rev. A. J. Bradshaw at the First Christian church this afternoon and interment was made in the Doxey-Sayre cemetery. Miss Cleghorn is survived by her father and three sisters. (25 Sep 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Girl Succumbs After Illness Of Eleven Days; Funeral At Sayre. Funeral services for Miss Winnie Cleghorn, 21, daughter of W. H. Cleghorn of Sayre, were held Monday afternoon at the First Christian Church in Sayre. Rev. A. J. Bradshaw, pastor of that church read the final rites, according to information received here. Miss Cleghorn was ill eleven days. Hopes for her recovery were abandoned late last week. Miss Cleghorn was reared in Sayre and possessed a large circle of friends. She attended the Sayre school and was an active worker in the Sunday school and church, of which she had been a member for these past six years. Besides Wayne Cleghorn, twin of Miss Cleghorn, two brothers and three sisters survive. They are Miss Brittie and Miss Willie Bell Cleghorn, Mrs. Montie Keys, Bradford Cleghorn and Dale Cleghorn. All reside in Sayre. Pallbearers were Denny McAnerny, Claude Paddock, Alfo Paddock, Vernon Burks, Royce Miner and Marsh Crul. Burial was made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery with the body of Miss Cleghorn being laid beside that of her mother, Mrs. W. H. Cleghorn, who died five years ago. Besides the friends and relatives in Sayre and surrounding cities who attended the final rites, more than 25 persons from cities of further distance attended. They were: Mr. and Mrs. Snow White, Mrs. Jim Moore, of Oklahoma City, Mr. and Mrs. George Faulkner and children and Johnie Faulkner, of Beruyn, Sid and Fint Cleghorn, of Amarillo, Tex., Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Bage Sinclair and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Sinclair, of Sweetwater, Clinton Laracley and Kenneth Kieser, of Yeager, and Ben Hayden, of Hinton. (28 Sep 1930, Sunday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): WINNIE M. CLEGHORN BURIED HERE, MONDAY. Miss Winnie M. Cleghorn, age 21, who died in the local hospital as the result of blood poisoning resulting from poisons accumulating from her tonsils, Monday, was buried at the Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Monday, with Rev. A. J. Bradshaw, pastor of the first Christian church officiating. He was assisted in the service by Rev. Tom Means, pastor of the local Presbyterian church. She is survived by her father, Bill Cleghorn; two brothers, Wayne and Bradford; and by three sisters, Miss Brittie and Miss Willie Bell Cleghorn and Mrs. Mottie Keys, all of Sayre. Litteral-Moore were in charge of the funeral. CARD OF THANKS.
