Funeral services were held at the home at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The singing was led by members of the M. E. choir. After helpful and comforting prayer and address by Rev. O. A. Pankey, friends viewed the remains for the last time, after which they were taken to the depot to be shipped to Wakenda, Mo., for interment, where he will be laid by the side of his two children who preceeded him. On June 18, 1871, he was married to Sarah E. Winfrey, of Missouri. Six children were born of this union. The four surviving children are, George Clements of Hammon, Okla, Henry Clements of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Mary J. Wymer of near Carpenter, Okla., and Mrs. Lelia B. Burkhart of Wakanda, Mo. On account of sickness in their homes Henry and Mrs. Burkhart were unable to be present when their father passed away. The deceased was born in Carroll county, Mo., February 20, 1852 and was sixty-eight years and twenty-eight days old. When a young man he joined the M. E. Church South. During his last days he called his loved ones to his bed-side and told them he was not afraid to die and asked them all to meet him in Heaven. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, a good neighbor and friend. The News-Democrat joins with all in extending deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones. The remains were accompanied to Missouri by Geo. Clements and W. M. Winfree (sic), the latter a brother of Mrs. T. J.
