COCHRAN, MABEL LEONE
(9 May 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
PASSED BEYOND.  It is with sincere regret that we note that Mrs. Mabel
Leone, wife of our brother Editor, Ralph Cochran, of the Vici Beacon,
(Dewey County) had died Sunday, April 28th after but a weeks illness,
caused by the birth of a son, just a week before.
While we had known the husband for some years, we had never had the
pleasure of meeting Mrs. Cochran until at the State meeting of Oklahoma
Editors at the Fair at Oklahoma City last fall Mr. and Mrs. Cochran
together with our brother R. F. Cain and wife of Camargo Comet, planed
(sic) at time how they all would meet with the Editor and Mrs. Cain at the
State Editorial association at Mountain Park that meets at the Editors
beautiful club house on the 24th of this month.  We had counted on that
meeting and her death comes as a shock to us.  She was a brilliant and
talented lady, a good mother and a devout and active Christian worker.
She leaves a family of four small children.  The funeral was conducted by
the Rebekah Lodge.  Her coffin and grave was decorated with beautiful and
costly floral tributes from practically every organization in the town and
a procession of automobiles two miles long, carried friends to pay the
last sad tribute at the cemetery.  We feel that the future is well with
her.  We extend our heartfelt sympathy to our good friend in his sad
bereavement.
