Funeral services for Mrs. Ted Collins, age 60, will be Saturday, Oct 2 at 2:30 pm in the United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Carter Cemetery under the direction of the Peoples Funeral Home in Lone Wolf. Mrs Collins died Thursday, Sept 30, in the Community Hospital. She was born Oct 11, 1915 and was married to Ted Collins Aug 29, 1936. They lived in Carter for 32 years before moving to Elk City in 1956. Mrs Collins was a member of the United Methodist Church and was very active in church work. She was president of WSCS in 1960-61 and sang in the church choir. Survivors include her husband, Ted, of the home; two daughters, Varynia Hodges of Elk City and Diane Collins of Oklahoma City; one son Gary Collins of Tulsa; one sister, Alice Thrower of Elk City; a brother-in-law, Frank Cashion of Elk City and two grandchildren, Stephanie and Jimmy Hodges. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers. A memorial fund has been established to buy music for the church choir. Donations can be made at the Methodist Church office. (Infant son, born and died 3 Jun 1939 also buried Carter.)
