Funeral services are tentatively set for 10 am Tuesday in the United Methodist Church for longtime area farmer Ted L. Collins, 74, of 802 Shore Drive. Officiating will be Don Graham. Interment will be in the Carter Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. Mr Collins died early Saturday morning at Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was born June 19, 1907 in Okemah. The family moved to the Carter community in 1925. He was active in the farming business all his life. In August of 1936, he married Cleo Collins. She preceded him in death in 1976. Mr Collins became a member of the Methodist Church in Carter in 1949 and later moved his membership to the United Methodist Church in Elk City. Survivors include two daughters, Varynia Hodges and Diane Collins, both of Elk City; one son, Gary Collins of Elk City; two grandchildren, Jimmy and Stephanie Hodges, both of Elk City; two sisters, Clara Morgan of Carter and Delora Collins of Elk City, and a sister-in-law, Alice Thrower of Elk City.
