(17 Oct 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DAUGHTER OF J. W. BLAIR DIES IN ARKANSAS. Joy and sorrow came close together in the J. W. Blair home last week. His son, Ivan, who had been in the navy, and also very ill, returned home Thursday on a furlough. It brought great happiness to all. The following morning a message was received that a daughter, Mrs. W. R. Coln of Brinkley, Ark., was very sick and a short time later another message arrived announcing her death. Mrs. Coln had lived in Arkansas about ten years. Besides her parents, four brothers and four sisters are left to mourn her loss: A. M. Blair of Norman, M. W., Ivan and Glen of Elk City, Mrs. J. C. Johnson and Mrs. A. Alexander of Galva, Kansas, Mrs. Lee Finkle of McPherson, Kansas, and Mrs. Lee Campbell of Elk City. M. W. Blair and sister Mrs. Lee Campbell left Friday afternoon for Brinkley to attend the funeral. Deepest sympathy is extended the bereaved family. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
