(4 Aug 1921, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF JOE (sic) CONSTABLE. Word was received last Thursday, just after we went to press, of the sudden death of Joe (sic) Constable, living northeast of town, from apoplexy. He was aged 72 years, 3 months, 20 days. Grubitz & Son prepared the body for shipment to Enid for burial. An obituary notice will be found in the Carpenter items. J. M. CONSTABLE. Uncle Jim Constable answered the final call Thursday, July 28th. He had the misfortune to get his hip broken some three or four years ago which never healed. This seemed bad enough, but to add to afflictions he suffered a severe attack of gallstones about three months ago, which was the cause of his death. Mr. Constable filed on a claim west of Carpenter, where he was living at the time of his death. The deceased was a consecrated christian, being a member of the Church of Christ. He leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Goins, of Enid, and a number of grand children to mourn his loss. The remains were taken to Enid for interment, being accompanied by the wife and a grand daughter. (12 Aug 1921, Friday Southwest Press, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): JOE CONSTABLE.
