(6 Dec 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Charles E. Copeland who quite recently moved to Cushing from his home on the Washita near Old Redmoon where he had lived for fifteen years, died in his new home Friday, November 23rd, 1923. Mr. Copeland was born about fifty-five years ago in Arkansas and was married when quite young to Miss Ada Fenno and lived in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. For several years he served as U. S. marshal in Eastern Oklahoma. He was the father of nine children, two of whom preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, his aged parents, who are both ministers of the gospel, his wife and seven children; Mrs. Geo. Anderson of Rankin; Mrs. Joe Amend of Kansas City, and Bud, Geo., Hugh, Lovida and Gilbert all of Cushing.
