Mrs. H. D. Cox, a resident of Cheyenne since the country opened, died recently in New Mexico at the home of her son, as a result of old age. Her body was taken to Cheyenne last week for interment. The Cheyenne Star says: "When the news reached this place of her death, her many friends here were saddened. She was omnipresent in the affections of her fellow townsmen, because of her devoted Christian life - one that was sacrificing. She helped to make lighter many of the burdens of pioneer life. When the doctors were few she was oft at the bedside of the sick and dying. "Two children survive her death. They are Mrs. Jennie Berry and Mr. Don Cox. They were present at the burial." --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
