All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ CRABTREE, JENETTA BELL (31 Jan 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Jenetta Bell Cox-Crabtree, died in Elk City January 28, 1929, following five years of acute suffering. She was buried January 31, in East Fairlawn cemetery. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church with Rev. H. W. Shirley officiating. Mrs. Crabtree was born December 21, 1859, and was 69 years, 1 month and 6 days old at the time of her death. She moved with her parents as an infant to Valley Mills, Texas. In the year 1898, on June 20, she came to Oklahoma. For the past 20 years she has lived in Elk City. Mrs. Crabtree has been a member of the Baptist church since the age of fourteen. She was married to Job Hampton Crabtree December 6, 1874. Mr. Crabtree died April 14, 1924, while on a visit in Wichita Falls, Texas. There were six children born to this union. One of them died at birth and Charles L. died September 22, 1925. The surviving children are: John W. Crabtree, Borger, Texas; Mrs. Forrest Banks, Elk City; Miss Alice Crabtree, Elk City, and Jodie Crabtree, Bellvue, Ohio. They were all present at the funeral. Other near relatives present were: Mrs. Harvey Galloway, Oklahoma City; Mrs. W. C. Carroll, Oklahoma City; granddaughters; Mrs. O. H. Young, Elk City, niece; and Mrs. Lizzie Ward, a cousin by marriage. Mrs. Crabtree through the long months of her suffering, has shown great patience and endurance.
