CRITES, MARY JEWEL
(30 Oct 1919, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
DEATH OF JEWEL CRITES
After suffering one week of illness, Jewel Crites, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. W. Crites, of Sayre, passed away on October 26th.
The body was brought to Elk City Monday and interred in the Fairlawn
cemetery, funeral services being conducted by Rev. Cochran.
Jewel would have been fourteen years of age the 13th of next February, and
was a most lovable girl.
She was a bright jewel here.
But a brighter up there
It was hard to let her go
Because we loved her so.
We would not call her back again
To this world of sorrow and pain
But will strive in heaven to meet
Where our joy will be complete.
Grandpa and Grandma Crites.
The News-Democrat wishes to offer sympathy to the bereaved parents and
grandparents.  The sorrow was double hard for the mother of Jewel, as she
received word just the week before of the death of her daughter, that her
mother had passed away.
