(Jun 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Merritt
Community News:
Grandpa Daugherty died Saturday night and was buried Sunday afternoon at
three o'clock in the Grandview cemetery.
Grandview Community News:
Sunday our community mourned the passing and burial of Grandpa Daugherty
who has been  residing here for twenty-five years and highly respected. 
He was stricken with paralysis the first of the year and moved to the home
of his son Lee Daugherty in Merritt Community where he passed away
Saturday and was buried here Sunday.  He left many relatives to mourn his
going.  His grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Berridge, his son Lee and family
and son John of Merrit (sic), other relatives and friends from Roosevelt,
Merrit, and Elk City, Bella Vista and Grand View attended the funeral
here.  The funeral was conducted by Rev. Glance of Merritt.
