DAUGHERTY, SAMUEL
(18 Oct 1905, Roger Mills Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Samuel Daugherty.  Was born March 29th, 1832 in Jefferson county, Ohio,
united in marriage with Esther Stage, August 23, 1852, of this union was
born seven children of whom now survive him.
Deceased accepted the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ some two years
previous to his death, but had not affiliated with any religious
denomination.
Mr. Daugherty imigrated (sic) with his wife and family from Ohio to Kansas
some 37 years ago.  On December 27, 1887, he lost his beloved companion
and he has since lived with his son, S. N. Daugherty.  He departed this
life October 13, 1905.  There were present at his bedside his son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Moad of White City, Kansas; Mrs. H. Vamberg of
Tulsa, I. T.; Mrs. H. P. Newport of Ponca City, Okla.
Mr. Daugherty was acquainted with some of our neighbors and those who knew
him best loved him most.
