DAVIS, NOEL B.
(21 Jun 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Funeral services were held at 2:30 this afternoon at Canute for Noel
Davis, 17, son of Dr. and Mrs. S. J. Davis, who died at 6 o'clock this
morning in a Clinton hospital following an operation for acute
appendicitis.
The young Mr. Davis was rushed to the Clinton hospital for the operation
when his condition became serious.  An operation was performed immediately
but it is believed that poison had already spread through his body.
The Davis family, which has lived south of Canute for a number of years,
is one of the most prominent in that community.  Members of the family are
known for miles around that village.  Noel Davis was active in affairs of
the school and was well known for his ambition to accomplish things.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. D. Hawkins, of the Methodist
Church in Canute.  Interment was made in the cemetery there with Grubitz
and son, funeral directors of this city in charge.
Noel Davis is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Davis, and two
brothers and one sister.
