CHAMP DAVIS Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Erick for Champ DAVIS, pioneer ranchman, who died Saturday morning in a Shamrock, Tex. hospital. Rites were conducted at the First Christian church of Erick by Rev. I. Q. McCORKLE, pastor. Mr. DAVIS, born November 11, 1858, in Virginia, came to this section in 1887 and with his brother, the late Edd DAVIS, established a ranch, part of which was in Oklahoma and part in Texas. He was part owner of the ranch which covered about 52 sections. His only survivor is a brother, Lee DAVIS, of Shamrock. He was never married. Burial was in the private Davis cemetery north of Erick.
