(30 Aug 1923, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DIES FROM LOCK-JAW. George W. Day, a pioneer of Western Oklahoma, died last Saturday from lock-jaw, the trouble starting from mashing a finger in some cogs of machinery. Mr. Day lived three miles east and two north of Hammon, and was about 55 years of age. He served a term as County Commissioner of Custer County and was a man respected and admired by all who knew him. He had two sons living in Lamar, Colorado.
