She was united in marriage to John Henry Dedman (sic) near Elkmont, Ala., May 10, 1874. To this union were born eight children, four daughters and four sons, two of the daughters passing away several years ago. She leaves a heart broken husband, two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Hunter of this city, Mrs. J. T. Mincher of Berlin, four sons, E. W., J. G., S. A., and W. H. Dedmon all of this city, thirty five grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren and a host of friends. She was converted at the early age of twelve and joined a Baptist church at Wills Point, Texas, at the age of 14. She was a true Christian, a good wife, and mother, and ever ready to lend a helping hand. She lived her religion daily and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her friends, neighbors, and there is a vacant place in the home that can be filled by no other; she is gone, but a beautiful memory of her lives on. The world is better that she has lived. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon May 14, with Rev. S. S. Elliott officiating at the First Baptist church. Interment was made in the Fairlawn cemetery, with Grubitz & Son in charge of the arrangements.
