All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ DICK, ELIZABETH (4 Aug 1910, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Dick, wife of Mr. Dick, head of the firm of Dick & Son of Texmo, died at Oklahoma City, Wednesday, where she had been taken to a hospital for an operation, from the effects of which the lady died. The remains were shipped from Oklahoma City to Texmo, via Elk City, on the noon train today. A large delegation from Texmo met the remains here. Mr. Dick is very sick, and friends are fearful of results when the news of his wife's death is imparted to him. (10 Aug 1910, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF MRS. DICK. Mrs. J. R. Dick of Texas was taken to Oklahoma City Sunday, July 31, to be opperated (sic) on for gall stones. Dr. Allen and Mr. Dick with some other members of the family went down with her. Tuesday the operation was performed and she seems to be doing well, but later complications set in and she died Wednesday. Mrs. Dick was the mother of several children among them are Mrs. C. O. Wagoner formerly of this place but now of Hammon, she was a sister of John Lovelace of Texmo.
